The East St Louis Players duo of Don Tinsley and Bernard Jones first teamed up in 2006 and each achieved solo success in house circles, before bringing their respective skills to the studio to create a blend of deep house with live musical elements. Don Tinsley - The seasoned, enigmatic character:
Bernard Jones - The talented new-comer, with an animated personality:
Between Don and Bernard there is a natural connection that is based on friendship and a mutual passion for music. “We just know each other that well… in the DJ scene we always looked to each other for the hot sounds in house. It’s no different in the studio, we just know what we like and how to support each other’s talents.” East St Louis Players Songs Published by Kahua

Back In The Day
YSE (pronounced 'Eese') is also known as Anthony Harrison, one half of the deep house super-power Rhythm Plate. YSE is Harrison's alter ego for his solo projects, which began on Lost My Dog Records in 2006 with 'Not Wot You Got' and was followed up in 2007 with the underground house anthem 'Bounce Back'. YSE has further eagerly anticipated solo material planned for 2008 and beyond. YSE Songs Published by Kahua
Then 15, Pete Dafeet started DJing in the late 90s after messing around with Daft Punk and Jurassic 5 records on his cousin's decks. A rhythm freak since early age, he became fixated with house music and saved the money from his part time job to buy a wonky set of belt drive decks and a crackly mixer. Slowly but surely he started to learn the trade, and his tastes became focused on deep, underground house. Four years on, and feeling constrained by his record collection, Pete set to work learning the basics of a computer sequencer. The first three tracker received plays from many a house jock; Yousef, Lottie and Jason Hodges were all fans of his debut EP which, thanks to a helpful tip-off from Phat Phil Cooper, was released on Shaboom offshoot Foot Fetish in April 2004. After more production work for Shaboom and sister label Bosh starting his own label seemed to be the natural progression. So in 2004, whilst studying in Loughborough, Pete teamed up with local househeads Ian Straker and Nagajan Modhwadia to start Lost My Dog. In the eighteen releases since, Lost My Dog has established itself as one of the UK's leading deep house labels - Jay Tripwire, Nathan Coles and Greenskeepers have all featured, and the label was recently listed in iDJ as one of the "100 Reason's Why Dance Music Still Rules". Pete's reputation as an artist and DJ is on the rise thanks to gigs with Diz, Rob Mello, and James Curd, and releases on Detour, Bosh, Lost My Dog, and Robsoul. Remixing the likes of Blakkat, Tony Thomas and No Assembly Firm along the way, he himself has been remixed by several of his biggest influences - Demarkus Lewis, Inland Knights, Fred Everything and the aforementioned Jay Tripwire. 45 Feet
Rhythm Plate consist of Matt Rhythm and Ant Plate who hail from the beautifully backward peak district town of Matlock. They first met at school where it quickly became apparent that they had the same make of orthopaedic shoe, meaning they quite literally got off on the right foot. This, combined with their mutual love of shoplifting, warm real ale and bad puns meant that they were soon finalising a plan for musical stardom. Their recording career initially began in Plate's parents caravan in Bridlington (motto: if the music's rockin', don't bother knockin') but they soon outgrew this and moved into a multi purpose, state of the art allotment shed nearer home. Their reputation as musical visionaries soon began to spread due to their infamous 'Derbyshire cubs and brownies DJ tour' which culminated in an all-dayer at Starkholmes village hall. This fact alone would have made the front page of the Matlock Miracle Newspaper were it not for one young raver drinking too much kia-ora and having to be stomach pumped. Early attempts at pop stardom were hampered by their crippling tourettes syndrome, however an intensive course of hypnotherapy soon sorted this problem out. The only problem is that now whenever they hear a certain Todd Terry hi-hat pattern they have a full on relapse. After conquering the bourgeoning pub scene in Matlock these boompty bumpkins decided to think a bit bigger - releasing on such heavyweights as Mantis, Winding Road, DiY, Lost My Dog, Bluem, Flat & Round and Procreation. As well as this they have also remixed/ruined tunes by respected artists such as Atjazz, Inland Knights, Hanna, BRS, Brooks and Pete Dafeet. These productions have been well received occasionally appearing on BBC Radio 1 and compilations such as Groove Armada 'Another Late Night', Ministry of Sound 'Chillout Ibiza', Hed Kandi 'Beach House 2' and also on the TV show 'CSI Miami' despite the fact that all of them are recorded at 126bpm and blatantly use the same kick drum. They have also even started a monthly deep house club night DETUNE in Chesterfield of all places, which is still going strong four years later: quite amazing when you hear some of the drivel they play. Should the need arise they also DJ, using the Transpeak bus service to carry their much sought after cassette single collection to gigs. Expect house, disco, funk, soul, waltz and whatever else they can get from charity shops. At present Plate sells deep house insurance and Rhythm is a dancer. Rhythm Plate Songs Published by Kahua
